WATER - Get Clear



As humans we are comprised up to 60% water. We can survive approximately 3 entire weeks without food but only 3-4 days without water. Our planet is covered in about 70% water. Understanding the importance of water for your health is what we are looking at today. Every living organism on earth requires water. Do yourself a favor, read on, learn something and take care of your body!


Why do so many people seem to overlook one of the easiest and most effective ways to improve their health? Drinking water is easy and effective but many still fall short.


Benefits we get from water:

  • Lubricates joints, muscles

  • Helps regulate body temperature

  • Carries nutrients to cells in our body

  • Flushes out toxins and waste

  • Carries oxygen to our brain

  • Allows the body to absorb important nutrients, vitamins, and minerals

What else do you need to know about water? Look at all the benefits I have listed above, it helps the body with all of its main functions.

Hydration


What is hydration? Well hydration or being hydrated means to provide your body with the proper amount of water for it to function. Have you ever had a bad headache or dry mouth on a hot day when you’ve been out and about or at the beach for hours? These are signs of being dehydrated and your body trying to make the adjustments where necessary to move the water already in you to higher priority areas. Staying hydrated throughout the day is important to proper body functions.


Intake


How much water do you need per day? This is a question that can vary a lot from person to person. It is related to age, sex, activity level and your body. A good general rule for adults - male or female who are somewhat active would be to drink between 2-4 liters of water per day. Trial and error is key, so play around with your intake until you find something that works well for you. If it is a hot sunny day or you’re out hiking and sweating a lot you will need to drink even more water on top of your daily limit.


How to Drink More Water


Why is it difficult for most of us to drink that clear stuff from the tap or water coolers? I understand water isn’t the most attractive or tasteful drink out there. In fact is should be odorless and tasteless. But you need to be drinking it all day long for your own good. One way I have found to improve my water intake consistently is to purchase a 1 litre water bottle. If you want to check out the water bottle I recommend CLICK HERE. It’s a 1 L Nalgene bottle, BPA free and is virtually indestructible. Choose your favorite colour combo and mouth opening – small or wide for preference. I have had mine for over 6 years.... money well spent.

Yes, it’s really that simple and fool proof. Using a reusable water bottle not only does good for our planet by not using throw away or one use bottles, but increases the chances of you drinking more water each day. Why? Well having your 1 L bottle by your side everyday filled makes drinking water a pretty easy process. Not only is it great to increase your water intake but can also be a helpful aid to tracking your intake. Want to drink 4 L of water each day? Great, drink 4 of your bottles and it’s a done deal.


Is All Water Equal?


No, unfortunately not all water is equal. Many people may assume that water is just water period. But this is far from the truth. The water that comes from your tap – tap water can be treated with harsh chemicals to purify it for safe drinking. These chemicals are meant to kill a lot of what is in the water that could harm you. Unfortunately it kills most of the valuable minerals in the water as well.

The best type of water to be drinking is one with all the natural minerals found in it;

  • Magnesium

  • Zinc

  • Calcium

  • Potassium

  • Sodium

  • Iron

This mineral water comes from the earth and that’s how it contains these great minerals within it. It will help your body in more ways then you think. Minerals are an important part in ones body and can help it to perform properly.


Dislike Water?


If you don’t like drinking water because it’s bland and tasteless try squeezing ¼ of a lemon or lime into your drink. Not only will the water do your body a huge favor but now you are adding even more vitamins and antioxidants which will help flush your body of toxins. These drinks are cheap and super effective!

The Morning is KEY


Once you wake up from sleeping 6 hours – or maybe 10 hours… your body will be dehydrated. You will likely have a dry mouth from not drinking anything for hours and hours. This time is key to proper hydration and body function. Ensure you drink 500 ml of water as soon as you wake up if not even more. This will help you to wake up easier and feel more energized early on as well as provide your body with what it's been deprived of all night. Stop reaching for the coffee right away which will only leave you more dehydrated. Give your body something clean and clear it needs to survive.


The takeaway here is drink more water every day. Grab a bottle and save the planet as well as live a healthy life. Water is something that often gets overlooked when talking about becoming healthier. People talk about the gym and nutrition – but without staying properly hydrated each day it can affect our overall performance in a big way. Drink more water and get clear - about everything.
