Who doesn’t love eating berries? With blueberries being one of the most talked about superfoods in existence. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, goji berries, and acai berries are high in fiber, vitamin C, and loaded with antioxidants (this helps flush the body of toxins). Berries are a great addition to your breakfast as they digest fast, which is key to your morning meal. Berries can also be bought frozen, this is a great alternative if you enjoy having them with smoothies as they will last longer and be more cost effective.

Dark Leafy Greens

Greens such as kale, spinach, and arugula tend to get overlooked. Most people seem to stick with the traditional iceberg lettuce when making salads. Dark leafy greens are packed with antioxidants and vitamins. Kale is one of the most nutrient dense vegetables in existence. A good reason to add it to your weekly grocery shopping list! These greens can be great for a salad or can go into your morning smoothie. Having a couple of these leafy greens each day will provide your body with many needed nutrients.

Salmon is one of the healthiest foods on the planet. It contains lean protein and is loaded with Omega fatty acids. This is the good type of fat which your body needs, that supports heart and brain health. Fish will help your body maintain a healthy weight and keep you feeling fuller longer. If you want good protein sources this is for you. It helps with rebuilding muscle which is critical to a lean physique.

High in fat (the good kind), packed with fiber and protein. Nuts also contain vitamins and minerals which are required by the body. Almonds, cashews, pistachios, pecans, and walnuts are all great choices to add to your cupboard. These can aid with lowering cholesterol levels and help regulate your blood pressure. Nuts are a fantastic snack between meals to fill you up and recharge your body. These serve as great to go snacks while on the ski hill or hiking your favorite trails.

Whole Grains

Oats, brown rice, and quinoa are all great whole grain options. These aid with digestions and regulate blood sugar levels. Complex carbohydrates take longer to digest which in turn will help you with energy levels. These carbs are all natural and nutritious for the body. They also contain a lot of fiber.
