Enjoy your Life
Many people work their entire lives and continue to say they will focus on something they like to do or enjoy later. Life moves fast and we all can get caught up in our busy lifestyles. I believe we are not meant to work most of our lives doing things we dread. We need to focus and allot time do fun things for ourselves each day. This will help our lives be more meaningful.
To live Your Optimal Lifestyle is to live a life you enjoy every day. Whether you have your dream job or not this will include taking time each day just for you. To have fun and get the most out of our life. There are many activities we can do for little cost or even free.
I’m talking about the tasks you do that make you smile. Playing a sport, doing your favorite hobby, or just hanging out and watching the sunset with your partner. Without down time like this we may continue the never-ending treadmill of busyness.
Here are some ways to increase the joy you can get out of life. You want to be present, know what you like doing, and plan to do it!
Being more mindful will help you to be in the moment and enjoy what you are currently doing. A way to help you with this is meditation. I recommend using an app called Headspace. This app consists of guided meditation packs of many different times between 1-20-minute sessions. You will focus on the breath, be clear and in the moment.
Meditation has been used for thousands of years. It is a proven method to help us to control our emotions and be content. This will help you to enjoy many special moments in your life even more.
Make a List
Write out a giant list of different things you enjoy or think you would enjoy doing. Get creative and put in anything and everything you would love to do on it. Don’t worry about finances, vacation time or location. Use this list as a guide of things you can do to get the most out of your life. Some people may not have many hobbies, social circles, or activities they do on a regular basis. I want you to make a change and partake in things to get more excitement out of life. My list would look something like this:
Spend time with my partner
Spend time with family
Ride street bike
Go to the movies
Eat great food
Watch great movies
There can be as many or little items on the list as you want. The idea is to create more time in your life to do these things. Even if it’s for 15-30 minutes a day. If it improves your attitude/day, it is worth making the time to do it. Try something new or challenge yourself. It can be easy to stay in the same routine with the same people and schedule each day. Step outside of your comfort zone and try something that scares you.
Plan for Fun
Planning for fun means to schedule in what you enjoy into your day. Using a planner has skyrocketed my organization and productivity day in and day out. If you plan to have fun like taking that bike ride every morning at 6:00 a.m. you will be much more inclined to follow through with it. I recently started using a planner called Dailygreatness. <<This link will also help you save 10% off their planners!>> It is by far the most in depth planner I’ve used and is excellent for planning your days, weeks and months. If you don’t plan for fun things to do in your life, they can get put on hold indefinitely. If you are new to using a planner and scheduling things into your day, then I suggest you start with the Panda Planer instead. This is a much more basic and easier planner to start your journey.
Sometimes all we need to make that time for ourselves is to plan it. Holding ourselves accountable with a date and time can be the difference between doing something or wanting to do it.
Life is short, do the things that are special to you. You don’t want to be on your deathbed with a bunch of regrets rolling through your mind. Live life to the fullest and have fun 😊.
